Hi, I've got an authentic SVT-40 sniper rifle and I'm trying to find a scope mount that won't damage the notch. I've read here and elsewhere that most repros have the pin too high and it will damage the notch in the receiver if fired. I'd like to be able to shoot the gun without damaging it, obviously, so does anyone have experience with brands that definitely work without damaging the notch? This site recommends "finnbear" or Ukranian ones made in Izyum, has anyone here actually tried them?

I found that mount online 5-6 years ago but don't recall where. If memory serves me right, it's made somewhere in Eastern Europe and was sold on eBay by some Canadian guy. This mount comes with a screw in the back that's supposed to be tightened to hold it firmly in place, but it's sits very tightly even without that screw. It never moves at all during shooting.
Are you looking for an authentic-looking scope mount? Or would a modern one that slides into the receiver rails (such as the one I have) work? It works great and doesn't require any bolts to hold it in place.
Ok, I will keep watching Ebay and Gunbroker. I joined gunboards but I can't figure out if they have a trading board or not. Their terms of use say no WTB or WTS except on the trading boards, but then when I look at the forum list there's no trading boards (well, I do see one under Japanese firearms). Do they actually have them and I just can't find them?
I don't think you will find Izyum mount in North America, they are rarely seen on EU auction, never saw them overseas. You need to look at Ebay, Gunbroker, Gunboards sales, I think I saw 10+ Finnbear mount (mainly advertised as original) alone or as a part of the lot with SVT-40 for past 1-1,5 year
